I see a lot of post about Sams & Costco for supplies but I was wondering does BJ's carry any of these supplies. I have one near me but I would hate to pay the $45 and they don't have anything good.

I'm not sure about BJ's because i dont have a membership there, but I do know that Sams club does NOT have it or crisco even. I was thinking about doing a trial at either BJ's or costco.
Hopefully someone else will know icon_smile.gif

Gordon Food Service (GFS) also carries the Rich's Bettercreme; 1 qt. frozen with baked cakes, & frozen toppings.

However, I've not read any posts about BJ's.

You might want to check with Customer Service about the membership. I know Sam's Club would give out one-day passes so you could look over the store. (Can't remember if that allowed you to make any purchases...)

I get both Crisco and Rich's Bettercreme from Sam's here. The Rich's was $22.24 for a 15 lb. bucket. I was in a pinch for something and picked up a cake from BJ's and the frosting on it was terrible!!! I don't know what kind it is but it was awful. We threw the cake in the trash.

my sam's will let me buy bettercreme in 15 lb tubs at the bakery. you have to call first, so they will know if they have enough because they sell it right from the stock that they use.

i've been wanting to know about this too. i figured it doesn't, since no one here has ever mentioned it... but hey, you never know. Maybe we'll have to visit the store in person to get an accurate answer.
I did find it by me locally, but it's the liquid - 1 gal for $33.00. How does that sound?

Bettercreme is a less sweet whipped icing that tastes like Cool Whip but holds up better and can be used for borders and such.

I've never seen it at my BJs, and I've looked and looked.

Thanks all, I only have the Bj's about 10 blocks away (Just opened 2 months ago) I did order the 2lb bottle from kitchencraft and want to open it to taste it so bad but I don't have a reason to make a cake till June 22. So I was hoping I could find it locally so I could whip some up when I get home tonight and buy a new one for the 22th.

I was just at my local Bj's last week and asked if they sell anything from their bakery and they told me no! So if you dont have a membership you might want to call and ask before hand! I did manage to get the older version of crisco there adn the biggest bag of PS is a four lb for $2.25!

I've called the BJ's and Sam's in my area Boston and they don't carry it. And they don't sell their own icing that they use from their bakeries either.

Here's a multi-linked Rich's Bettercreme & Pastry Pride thread:

This is a Prego thread; believe me, everything (you want to know) is in there. icon_smile.gif
