I need to make a cake for a hygienist in my dental office who is leaving to pursue a different career. I don't want to do the expected "tooth cake". Just wondering if anyone has any interesting ideas!

Thanks

Do you know what new career she is pursuing? Maybe you could do something related to that.

What kind of job change is she doing?? Maybe you could use her new career in it.. Even maybe something like a tooth theme transfering into her new career..Good luck

I was just thinking maybe some kind of thing that symbolizes a transition/new beginning. But what kind of thing would symbolize that? Hmmm.... I'll keep thinking about it and let you know if I come up with anything.

How about a picture on a cake. i was thinking about a tooth(I know you said you didn't want that) but think of a tooth (with legs and arms) running away, with a stick on his shoulder and a bag hanging off it. message:

I did a massage therapy cake for a friend once. It was a man's body (Cut out from 1" deep 9X13 cake) laying on his stomach on top of a sheet cake. I frosted him a flesh color and used the grass tip with brown frosting to pipe the hair on his head. I made a MMF towel to drape over his butt. I used the phrase "don't rub it in that you're leaving!" but for your case you could add "It will be like pulling teeth trying to replace you" maybe with a little MMF tooth beside it.

good luck!

Thank you, Yrn2lrn. That was a really fun cake to make!

I forgot to mention that I used 2 mini cupcakes under the towel for his butt.
