I saw a picture of a cake, on this site, I think, that had Happy Birthday ????, written with RI and put on the cake. I loved how that looked and I can't find it anywhere....HELP! I am making my daughters 30th birthday cake this weekend and wanted to do that. I am running out of time for the RI to dry. If anyone can help, please do, and thank you so much in advance!

Are you speaking of a monogram type? Look in my pix and you will see a gold gilded monogram done with colorflow then put on the cake. Is this the kind of writing you are talking about?

LadyCake I would love to know also.

I had to do a cake this weekend where I wanted to write the birthday girls name on it. I made two just in case out of RI it looked beautiful because I then painted it with Luster Dust however when I picked it up to put it on the cake it cracked in 3 places! Then I tried the second one and same thing that one was worse! I let them dry for 2 days on wax paper and a cardboard backing. Not sure what went wrong with mine. I have heared people here doing it with fondant or gumpaste but, I am still not sure on drying time.

Also is the writing put on before transportation or after? TIA

I did this with a cake, look in my photos. It says "Feliz Cumpleano".
Make sure you don't pipe them too thin because there is a lot of breakage and do several. I just printed out the font I liked and then layed wax paper over it. You'll need several days drying time. I painted with Luster once they were dry and before I placed on the cake. PM me if you have more questions.

Zoraya, I can't find the cake you are talking about! I must be blind! Sorry, what else is on the cake?
