Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here who helped me as I attempted my first decorated cake - my sister's bridal shower luau was a success and everyone LOVED the cakes. I did a flip flop and a beach w/ water & sand. Hard work - cakes stuck in the pans, icing was fighting with the cake, wouldn't spread well, but in the end, it was worth it.
