I have never made one myself as I dont care for them but as for size I guess it depends on how many you want to feed and as for price depends on where you are, what it costs you to make it and how difficult it is. But here's a bump maybe someone with more experience than me can help you.

I bought the Wilton pan but have yet to make one sorry, I'm waiting to see the answer to this also. The possibilities are endless with the flavor combinations though.

The Wilton pan? Is it a special pan for ice cream cakes? I am going to do one this week and was wondering the same everyone else is.

This is what DQ sells their cakes for and serving size. These are the (regular) chillabration cakes not the blizzard or ones with the edible images(those are a couple of $ more. Hope that helps.

$17.99--8 roundserves 8 10
$19.99--10 roundserves 12-16
$24.99--Sheet Cakeserves 20-24

We use cake rings but you can use a pan. There was a topic on this just the other day.
