Use buttercream icing to attach the cupcakes to the cake board so they don't slide. This link shows you how to make a cupcake cake icon_smile.gif

that is a great link. I love her tutorials!!

I also have put a dot of royal icing under each cupcake around the outside of the cupcake cake and that worked wonderfully!

have fun!

The key is to have your cupcakes at the same height, then it is easy to make a smooth layer of frosting across them!

I place a dab of buttercream icing under the cupcakes to help hold them in place. You use it with a thin icing and I don't think I have ever had any of them move around on me.

I did this one last week.....used a total of 25 cupcakes. I put frosting under each cupcake that was on the outside edge to keep it from sliding. I added heavy frosting on each cupcake using the #32 star tip. Filled in some of the holes between the cupcakes and then used a spatula to smooth it all out on the top.....and let it CRUST over.....then used the Viva paper towel to get it really smooth. A different look.
