depends upon the type of cookie.
some can do up to a month in advance and freeze.
i make one you have to do at least a week in advance just so it will soften enough to be edible (come out rock hard and then store in big closed cookie jar w/ several slices of fresh bread, changing bread daily until cookies are soft enough)
can't speak to the no-fail ones here, haven't made them --- yet.
the no-fails will be fine. they keep, stored at room temp, for at least a week. I've also frozen them after I've baked them. As long as they are wrapped well, they come out great!
good luck!
