Can any one tell me if you can purchase paramount crystals in any local stores. If you can please tell me what section I can find them in. I could search for hours in our Super WalMart. These were recomended by someone on this site to help make the chocolate shell on dipped strawberries stay on after the first bite.

You can use crisco in the place of paramont crystals. Its just dried lard to help the chocolate melt more evenly. I use to use them until someone at a cake shop told me that its the same as crisco. As for getting the chocolate to stay on a strawberry good luck I work in a very well known chocolate store and if there was a way they would know. I tell people that when they eat my chocolate covered strawberries to eat it from the top first. There is less breakage that way and if there is any juice in it, it drips into the rest of the shell. Good Luck
