Just got it yesterday at Walmart...for once I can say it has really nice stuff this year. Eventhough I am NOT a fan of fondant, I think there are some fondant cakes that I can replicate with BC. I think its better than last year's issue.

I also got their "Tiered Cakes" book and it has great ideas!

Regards,
Naty

Yes, I picked it up yesterday as well. Although I didn't find alot of cute cakes I did find elements that I could use...a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Glad I got it.

I'm new to Wilton Yearbooks so I bought 2006,and 2007 (discounted). I like the ideas and tips offered. I'm sure anyone who is a Newbie could benefit from having these near by. If you use the 40% off coupon @ Michaels you save on the price of your Yearbooks

I couldn't wait to use the coupon when I go to the city in the next couple of weeks, so I went ahead and bought it at WalMart yesterday. There are some very beautiful cakes that I would like to replicate.

I like the new book as well, can't wait to try and replicate that Quinceanera cake, or something like it. LOL

I also love the Tier Cakes book. I'd like to try some of those, too. I love those globe pillars.

I love the tiered cakes book! icon_smile.gif Just bought my yearbook today and I absolutely LOVE that party stand set-up! I want it! LOL I don't usually replicate whole cakes in the book, I usually take bits and pieces and add them to my own design. icon_razz.gif

I just got home with it! First response, too much fondant...... I worked with ther stuff ONCE and will never do it again if I can help it. However. I really like the bright whimsical floral cakes.

I have the book. Bought it two days ago. I like that they use bc on the cake and the fondant as accents. I like the look of the fondant, but do not like the taste. I have use the fondant in the past as decorations. It gives a twist to the cake that no other cake decorator does around my area.

I've got mine yesterday!!!! I've got most of all of the recent books (including the the Tiered Cakes one everyone seems to love too!). There were some people on here lately that didn't like it, but I LOVE IT!!!! I think it is great. Some of them are just totally cool! I can't wait to try out the rollercoaster cake!!! There are some really great new ideas in it and you can always do your own take on things and twist it. My husband and I fell in love with the new Disney movie "Cars" and he loves Spongebob (no thanks to his mom who started the whole adoration on purpose for him since I'm not a great fan of him)...anywho....I'm going to do somewith with roller coaster theme and the "Cars" and the rollercoster for his birthday here in less than two weeks....I'm doing "Spongebob" theme park rollercoaster with the "Cars" characters as the actual rollercoaster cars....I think he will love it. Just add your own flair and mix it up guys and gals...It's always great no matter what we do- IT'S CAKE!!!!! icon_smile.gif

You could do "cars" on the roller coaster. That would look pretty cool. Maybe running over Spongebob. ;-O LOL!

I am making the "Cars" the actual cars of the roller coaster ride and the idea of spongebob being run over sounds great to me...muahahaha.....ha ha...but probably not very cool for his b-day cake when he likes spongebob. So the rollercoaster is spongebob...like "the meanstreak" or "the raptor" at Cedar Point......it will be "the spongebob"....Get it?
