Is there a secret to recipe to microwave bake cakes? I'd like to try a small cup size one. Should I change the batter consistancy or use it as directed on the cake box?

Any hints?
Thanks!

I went to a Pampered Chef party a few months back and the demonstrator "baked" a cake in the microwave. I think it was a regular box mix (I'll see if I can find out) and she "baked" it in the Pampered Chef fluted stoneware pan. The short of it is, I know it can be done. Unfortunately, I don't know the specifics for you. icon_sad.gif

I just went ahead and tried it. I used the same amount of eggs and oil or butter, but didn't add much water at all since I need a very dense, thick cake.

Put it on defrost (50%) for 6 minutes (I'm doing a small, cuplike mold) and it cooked right up and looks ok.

Thanks!

I am trying to get a small cake very quickly so I can sculpt it and put it on top of another. So, since this is due in about 30 minutes, I tried it and it worked so far.

Just nice to know if you are in a rush I guess. thumbs_up.gif
