I know this is a bit early but does anyone want to plan on getting together for the Oklahoma Fair in September. We could all go to the OSSAS together.

Any takers?

I am currently only in Course 3, but I plan on trying to make it up there this fall. My instructor said with our $10 admission we get into the fair for free. LOL! thumbs_up.gif Sounds like a deal to me! Still unsure if I will submit a cake or not..... I'm just a beginner and by no means up to competition level. Have you been to one before??

just frosting; Are you going to do a cake for the competition? Have you taken the Wilton Courses or are you self taught?

PS: Where are you in Oklahoma? I'm in Broken Arrow.

I went last year-it was my first time. The cakes are awesome! My dh likes to go as much as I do. I live in Enid and this will be my 2nd summer to drive to OKC weekly for cake classes. Thats about the only place I can take classes.

Obviously by the looks of my cakes, I am very slowly self taught--I still stink and nearly quit a couple times...but I am an addict.

I live in Stillwater. I grew up in Tulsa/Jenks. I got lost in BA once...

LOL too funny. How in the world could you get lost in BA? icon_lol.gif

I think your cakes are awesome.... especially the pink and white birthday one that you hated and didn't charge for (what were you thinking??). Do you decorate for a living or just for fun? I definitely think you should consider submitting a cake for the fair. My Wilton instructor told us that they have a catagory just for us beginners! They also give away prizes..... could walk away with a free Kitchen Aid (or another one if you already have one). thumbs_up.gif

Okay, the idea of a free KA is awfully tempting...

I decorate just for fun, although my DH doesn't think it is fun, he thinks it stresses me out.

I got lost in BA trying to buy fireworks when I was in high school. I was out of gas...it is so funny thinking about that now...

So what's a "DH"? I've seen that used quite often on this website!

Darling Husband...or Darn Husband, depending on your frame of mind in the post...

Mine is always darling--almost always.

I would be interested in getting together--I've gone to look at the cakes the last 3 years and they are so cool! Were you planning to enter a cake?
