With Visions Of Cakes Floating In Her Head...

Yep, you are not alone.... I talk to my husband about the cakes, and I get that blank look.....oh, well.... I always have Cake Central to share my thoughts.... ![]()
I think I have brought my DH over to the dark side
We were in Michaels yesterday and he disappears for a minute and comes back with one of those plastic suncatcher things little kids paint. It was a flower and he actually said to me " I wonder if the raised part of this would make a neat impression on fondant?" ![]()

ellyrae,
that's classic! I've seen that warning a gazillion times, but had no idea that there was a link there. great poem and oh so true..*sigh*
cindy
I never realized the poem was there either!! Too cute!! and too true!! My DH keeps threatening to send me to Baker's Anonymous. He says I've got an addiction!! Imagine that!! ![]()
Ditto.
and thanks, Ellyrae!
Debbie, my husbands co-workers were REALLY bummed when I finished classes and didn't have to do a cake a week anymore! LOL. I could not get the blue blue though. It looks more green. Trying to decide if I should re-bake that layer since I have to bake the white layer tonight too. The red is really more pink than red too. What to do... What to do....
Thank God. I thought I had an illness. Now I find out I just like to decorate cakes.
I am always thinking about cakes. My problem is if I keep making cakes and eating them I am going to look like an elephant. I don't want to make cake dummies either. I want the real thing.
I think maybe I will make a cake for my husbands work. maybe I can get some orders!!
SheilaF if its really green that would be weird, maybe if you bake it again you can add just a bit more to make it like pastel blue so that it would go with your "red". To get red you might have to use the whole thing of red coloring. Post a pic when its done, i can't wait to see it.
My DH's co workers LOVE for me to make and send cakes to them. And I have gotten a few orders from them for their mother's and for their kids birthday's and stuff. And I too get that blank "deer in the headlights" look
from my DH when I try to have "cake talk" with him. His father lives about 30 min. from here and we were on our way there the other day, and I explaining to him how I had found a better and easier way to do something and he was just sitting there nodding his head and had absolutely no clue what I was talking about!! It's so nice to talk to people who understand!!!!! ![]()
I'm soooo obsessed that I've been sitting here for 3 days now on this web site for about 9 hours per day and I'm at work!!!!
I leave work, pick up my kids, go home, do laundry bake a cake and run to my computer in between chores until 10:00 p.m. when it's time for my shower and bed.
Who cares, I'm obviously not the only one. ![]()
Debbie, I cut the top off to ck out the inside, and it's actually blue inside. the outside is green though. Not sure how that happened, but that's ok. I won't need to re-bake it! TG cause it's HOT! I get to start decorating this cake tomorrow and I can't wait! I feel like a kid waiting for christmas to come. My kids just can't wait for me to cut all the tops off so they can eat them! LOL. I'm hoping the inside of the red one will be more red too then. I have not topped that one yet.
SheilaF I cant wait to cut the tops off and eat them, the top is my fav. Thats good that it was blue and not green on the inside. I just finished the cake for my hubby's job. I couldnt wait to decorate it so i made the cake early, then while the kids were taking their 2nd nap i made the frosting and when hubby got home i started decorating so i'm done and cant wait to get started on my next, whenever that is.
I would start decorating tonight too if I had been able to bake the third layer last night. But by mdn I decided it was a tad late to throw any more cakes in teh oven
I'll bake the white layer tonight so it should be cool by morning. I need to decorate cookies tomorrow for bird camp on friday too. My dtr's turn to bring snack on friday, so I'm making cookies on a stick. The butterfly's are all I need to finish for this cake and I "should" be able to pipe the bodies tonight. The wings are still a tad on the tacky side or I'd be down there doing them already.
mmm...cookies on a stick sounds yummy. Too bad i dont eat those things anymore. Anyway i'm sure your daughter & friends will enjoy them.
Frog80 i know what you mean about the mindless nodding from the hubby. Mine does that all the time. Today i asked his opinion and he said "it looks good", he was not even looking. Men! LoL.
OMG--my husband is ready to divorce me--not from the cakes, but from being addicted to this site. no one else can get on the computer anymore!!! great poem!
Itsloops, I am right here with you as far as sittng at work and secretly being on this website. I am a very bored accountant who would much rather be "caking" than crunching numbers. I love this place!!!!
