I have seen some really pretty cakes on this website that have crowns/tiaras on them. I would like to know how to make these. I think they are so pretty. Can someone please tell me what they are made of and how to make them? Are there already directions somewhere on the site and I'm missing them?

Thanks
Michelle

Hi, Michelle!

There is all kinds of information on making tiaras on the site. If you look above, you will see the word Forums in large pink print. Right under the letter F is the word Search.

Click on that, and follow the directions on how to use the search engine. If you do not specify, all postings with the word tiara will come up. I would limit the postings to the past year. There have been plenty, but I never have a use for tiaras, so I did not keep many.

Hi Michelle!

I have a template that someone on here kindly posted once. If you would like it, I'd be happy to e-mail it to you. She said she put the template on a crisco can and piped it with royal icing and let it dry well before moving it.

A lot of people draw or print out a pattern of the tiara, tape it to a can (usually Crisco), then put waxed paper over the pattern, and pipe over it using Royal Icing or Candy Melts in a decorator's bag. Then they let it dry, until it needs to be removed and added to the cake.

Keep in mind, it will be very fragile, so you may have to pipe over it a few times for strength.

Hope this helps!
