I have bought those columns that you stick into your cake and I am making a three tier cake. I was wondering do any of you still dowel with those push in pillars or are those stable enough?

I've only done one cake with push in pillars and I didn't dowel it. But I only had one tier on top, not two. I think that push-in pillars are supposed to take the place of the dowels and therefore the dowels aren't necessary. There's not really a place to dowel anyway because you don't have a bottom plate.
