I am SOooo new to cake decorating and have seen all of your creative, beautiful magic that you do to your cakes, so I am hoping to get some advice. I am making a kind of a work reunion cake for my dad and past co-workers (they are all retirees now). The cake is to feed approx. 25 people. Anyway, they want their company's logo on it..see link below. Here's what I'm hoping you all can help me with. 1# Would you suggest frosting the cake 1/2 red and 1/2 blue and then piping on the arrows and circle thingy in the middle, OR, would you suggest a FBCT? #2 I also thought about doing a stacked cake to give the logo more impact... is that a good idea? 3# I need suggestions for what to write on it (they didn't give me any ideas). THANK YOU very much for any help you can give! In time, as I gather more know-how, I hope to be able to answer these kinds of questions on my own.http://www.showcaseline.com/Archived_product_pages/images/00286.jpg

If you had a long loaf pan that would be great. If not bake a sheet cake, cut it in half and then stack them. you could use small donute for wheel or fondant.

What does the company do/make? I, myself, would trace the logo out and use a star tip to fill it in. It looks impossible to flatten. But a BCT may work, I have not tried those yet. icon_sad.gif

The company makes/sells/distributes animal feed and grain.

I think frosting half the cake red and then half blue is a great idea. You could do the white part by cutting the shapes out of white fondant. I think that would be an easy way...cut out 3 hearts, one donut and a cross. If not, you could just pipe it on since it's really not a difficult pattern.

I'm stumped as to what to write on it though. Maybe the company's name with "Reunion" after it. Not very creative I know.

I like Lisa's idea for the fondant better the my star tip idea. One thought I had was to decorate the cake red/blue and to write the retirees names down and then put the fondant logo over the top and write the name of the company at the bottom.

Here's an idea, frost the cake red and blue like you thought. Do a frozen buttercream transfer (BCT) of the symbol. Then on the sides of the colors write down the names of the guys, (like what dragonwarlord said) and then in black icing, pipe "Retired but never tiring out...happy reunion!"

Here's the how to on a BCT- http://cakecentral.com/article12-How_To_Create_a_Frozen_Buttercream_Transfer.html
