How do I fix bulging on a 3 tier wedding cake. It's choc. buttercream and two layer. Is there any way to hide it if I can't fix it.

I just tried this last night. My first top tier had a bad bulge and I thought I could pull it out and straighten it. I was so wrong. I ended up ripping it. However, you know every decorators secret is to hide the flaws. So I was lucky that it was at a spot that I could put flowers there for a focus point and that is what I did.

I wish I could help you but I am new at this too.

Bulging can happen if you put too much icing in between the layers. It's a good idea to torte, then crumb coat for a day ahead to see if any problems occur. I know it's too late for this cake, but maybe it will help with the next one!

Something I did was run a medium width ribbon around the cakes and it hid the bulge very well. Wish the same thing would work on my wardrobe icon_smile.gif
