Does anyone know how long cookie dough will last in the fridge if you seal it in bags with the food saver machine. I just got one and want to start keeping dough ready to use in fridge so when I get an order it's ready to use. Thanks for any advice you can give me. icon_razz.gif

Forever. icon_smile.gif...Really- a pretty long time- I have mine in the freezer- and they are great- they only take a couple of hours on the counter to thaw.

Cookie dough stored in the fridge is good for 3-5 days tops. You can freeze cookie dough up to 4-6 weeks if wrapped securely. Be careful since cookie dough can absorb other food odors if not wrapped properly. It takes just a few hours for the cookie dough to thaw.

I looked at your pictures. Your cookies are beautiful. Do you really think they are only good for 3-4 days even it they are packaged with the food saver machine that takes out all the air out of the bag?

Thanks slimkim! The best advice I can give you is to experiment with your dough. I LOVE experimenting with recipes, etc., it's the best way to find out exactly what works and what doesn't. If you have some time, make up a small batch of dough, use your food saver and split it up into about maybe 5 - 7 portions. Each day pull out a batch, bake a few cookies and see how they turn out. Or just check the dough to see if the doughs texture has changed; stiff, difficult to work with, etc. You'll also be able to tell at what point the flavor has been affected. Personally I love to experiment so I would bake a few each day to test it, but that's just me icon_razz.gif

Everyone's fridge temp is diff, climate as well as a variety of elements affect recipes and their outcome. The results will vary from one to the next. Five days for you could be 9 days for another with the same results.

So experiment if you have the time, then you'll know for sure thumbs_up.gif Post your results, I'd love to know how it turns out!

Thanks again for all your advice. Your a sweetheart. Another ? . Have you ever used creme bouquet flavoring. I just got some and it seems really strong like you only need to use a very little bit. Has like a lemony flavor to it. Let me know if you've ever experimented with it. Thanks

I just made a batch of RI this weekend using the Creme Bouquet as the flavoring. Yummy stuff! But potent. Use sparingly. I think I used almost a tsp of the creme bouquet which may be a bit too much. But I liked the flavor it gave the RI. I would have used it in my cookie dough but I made and froze my dough a month ago (month before I bought the creme bouquet). I freeze my dough all the time and never have issues with it (changing textures or picking up different flavors) but I wrap my dough really well in parchment, plastic wrap and foil, place in ziploc and place ziploc in a plastic container. I have a food saver as well and I keep forgetting about it when I make my dough. I will have to make myself a note for next time.
