I found mine in the floral section at Walmart.. they come in a pack of 18 sticks and I just bent them all around and put beads and fondant flowers on them.. .check out the whimsy in my gallery to see if that is what you are talking about

On my cakes, I just use wire from a local craft store...a pretty thin guage, but I have only put paper items on mine, not heavy thing like fondant or gumpaste. My friend taught me a GREAT tip about that too. Wire usually comes on a spool and doesn't want to straighten well, so unroll some and run a pen or pencil along it...it straightens out perfectly!
how do you attatch the wires? Do you run them all the way down the cake or just the tier they are springing from?
Also do you support them with anything to keep the wires from tearing the fondant? or is that even an issue?
Would love to know, I am dying to try this out on my next cake.
Thanks
Sherri
