Just curious where is the best place to buy an Agbay cake leveler - online or other?
I checked out they're website and they have 2: $150 and $250. Is this about normal?
Thanks!

Online from the manufacturer is best.....And it is way worth the money. That thing will torte a 2 inch cake 10 times. What a weapon!!!!! thumbs_up.gif

You don't have any choice, she ONLY sells off her website icon_smile.gif

By the way, I LOVE my agbay. I only make a few cakes a year but it makes life sooooo much less stressful, it is a wonderful wonderful thing!

I have the $150 model and I LOVE it.

I was always terrible at leveling cakes--so frustrating! Serrated knife, dental floss...didn't matter, I still couldn't do it.

Inevitably when a cake leveler thread comes up someone will mention pressing the cake down while it's still in the pan to level it.
I'm glad and impressed that this technique works for some people, but my cakes rarely rise above the level of the pan, or they're uneven. Gotta love high altitude (and a less-than-perfect oven).

Long story short, Agbay levelers are well-made and their customer service is great!

Thanks!
How many times can you tort a 3" cake? I checked out the photo that is displayed with the $150 model and it states layers to an 1/8"..... Can't quite believe it torts that many layers - safely! icon_lol.gif
Is it better to tort a cooled cake (out of the freezer/frig) with this leveler or a room temp cake?

The Agbay is truly amazing, you can torte EASILY within 1/8 inch and repeat repeat and it doesn't disturb the other layers (ie: you don't have to remove the torted layer to do the next layer) Totally worth it, you will not regret it, I guarantee!

I will have to add this to my list of wanted toys. I'd like to add that the list is getting longer and longer everyday it seems.

I just got mine. DH asked if I wanted jewelry for Mother's Day and I told him, "I want an AGBAY!" icon_lol.gif
So he ordered the Deluxe.

The owner of Agbay is sooo nice. She called to let me know that it was on the way and told me if I had any questions at all to call her. Very very nice lady!! thumbs_up.gif

Can't wait to use it now!! icon_rolleyes.gif

It is definitely worth it! I have the single blade version (double blade wasn't available yet at that time) and love using it. Just have to be very careful as the blades are really sharp.
