I have the $150 model and I LOVE it.
I was always terrible at leveling cakes--so frustrating! Serrated knife, dental floss...didn't matter, I still couldn't do it.
Inevitably when a cake leveler thread comes up someone will mention pressing the cake down while it's still in the pan to level it.
I'm glad and impressed that this technique works for some people, but my cakes rarely rise above the level of the pan, or they're uneven. Gotta love high altitude (and a less-than-perfect oven).
Long story short, Agbay levelers are well-made and their customer service is great!

How many times can you tort a 3" cake? I checked out the photo that is displayed with the $150 model and it states layers to an 1/8"..... Can't quite believe it torts that many layers - safely! ![]()
Is it better to tort a cooled cake (out of the freezer/frig) with this leveler or a room temp cake?
I will have to add this to my list of wanted toys. I'd like to add that the list is getting longer and longer everyday it seems.
