When putting roses on a cake, do you put the roses or the leaves on first?

When I do flowers... I don't do roses...but I usually do the flowers first so I know exactly where I want the leaves. It's easier for me and I feel better..

I put the roses on first so I know where to put the leaves.

I always put the flowers first, that way I can cover any goofs with the leaves!

Since I only do Fondant/Gumpaste flowers, I do either one first, besides if it does not look good where it is, I can always pick it up with my hands and move it around. icon_smile.gif

roses, then leaves. You can easily fill in any holes etc with the leaves. I dont think you actually have to tuck the leaves underneath the rose, just do it up next to it.
