a pic of a multi tiered cake that combines decorative features on each tier. IE: swirls and stripes on the same tier. I am making a cake today that has sprays of stars coming out of the top and I invision scalloped stripes and swirls on the sides of the bottom tier. I have searched the galleries and only find single decorative techniques on each tier. I'd love to see a pic before I do it and then realize it's just too much.

Thx

I don't know of any pictures nor have ever done one, but I don't think scalloped stripes and swirls on the sides would be too much.

Hun just use your imagination. How you pipe on your frosting is no harder than piping a border. Go with the flow. if you want squares on one layer go for it and if you want swirlies on another for for that too and if you want dots got for that. There are no hard and fast rules about applying decorations. Just do what you think looks good.
Look at it this way. if the cakes are stacked you are in fact decorating 3 seperate cakes anyway and you can decorate each one however you want and then stack em. No worries!
