I am making a toilet cake and my toilet bowl fell apart when I was just about to finish icing it. It it totally unfixable! I made it out of DH white cake mix with the cake extender added. Should I make a pound cake instead?

I baked it in the soccer ball pan. Should I use a bundt pan?

I am sorry it fell apart but I have to be honest, when I read the title I did laugh a little icon_redface.gif i would guess angel cake would hold up a little better, I dont think you would need to switch to a bundt pan, but then again I have never made a toilet cake before... Good luck I hope someone can offer some good advise

I just told my DH about it and he laughed and said, "well, we do have a history of bad toilets around here". icon_lol.gif

I don't have any angel food mix. My DH mentioned that too thumbs_up.gif

I like your signature. It's cute!

It's done thumbs_up.gif

I ended up making the bowl out of Pound Cake in the 1/2 soccer ball pan. It had a nice, firm crust. Thanks to SLK and irisinbloom and shifty for all their help and encouragement thumbs_up.gif

I think you did TO GOOD of a job on that cake. It was gross looking. icon_lol.gif

What in the world did you put in that toilet anyway?

This has got to be one of the funniest cakes I've seen. I wish I knew someone who was turning 40, 50 or 60. This would be great.

OMG, That is too funny! I am cracking up! That is way too realistic! It is so gros! I was going to make road kill for my FIL, but this would be even better, but I"m not sure I could even eat this! Great job, btw!!

eewww! So what were the reactions of everyone at the party? You did a fantastic job!!! How did you do the lid and the tank? Did you carve out the 1/2 ball cake? Very realistic and gross. Very creative.

Thanks Everyone!

Here are some answers to questions:

marthajo1 ~ I'm not mad at all. In fact, I laughed sooo hard when I read your comment. My goal was to make it realistic. I guess I succeeded there. thumbs_up.gif

JoanneK ~ solids were brown buttercream icing piped with a #12 tip and the liquids were a mixture of piping gel, corn syrup, and a touch of buttercup yellow gel paste.

alittlesliceofhaven ~ I had the pleasure of delivering this cake. It was great seeing the reactions of everyone that was there at the time (which was about 15-20 people). They couldn't believe it. Everyone was grabbing for their cameras. They had lots of questions, mostly "what is in there icon_eek.gif". I honestly told them what it was. Everyone checked it out real good and we all got LOTS of laughs.

The lid is a cardboard cake circle covered in buttercream. I supported the bottom of it with 2 toothpicks which were inserted into two straws poked into the cake.

For instructions PM SLK. She wrote some herself and drew a sketch for construction.

That cake is very disgusting looking and you did such a good job, I wouldn't be able to eat it. LOL!

I would like to make something like that for my uncle as I know this would be hilarious to him. icon_smile.gif I know that I would have to make a standard birthday cake too just so everyone can find peace in eating the cake! LOL

If you have instructions could you please send them to me at my personal email if you are okay with that.

Thanks,
Veronica

I think freezing it first would help while frosting it.
