I just needed to vent a little bit. I babysit my niece every day for my sister, she is 4 and without me my sister wouldn't have anyone to watch her, she can't afford daycare. Well today I had to do 4 cakes, 3 for tomorrow and one for Sunday so I figured we'd get all the baking done and I would decorate when she went down for her nap. She wouldn't take a nap. She screamed and kept misbehaving ALL DAY to the point where I was just about to lose it. To top it off, I had to make a basketball cake, and the stupid cake fell apart when I went to crumb coat it. I ran out of filling, had one cake mix left, and still had 3 cakes to decorate by 3:00pm. She tore my house up and was just generally naughty. by 6:00 I was finally working on the last cake when my sister came to get the kids (I also had my 2 girls, my nephew, and 2 of my youngest daughter's friends playing here, outside. icon_eek.gif ..). Well then my sister told her kids they could stay for a while. She lives about a block away from me so they could just walk home...what??!?!?!? She KNEW I had to get all this stuff done. I finally told my older daughter to walk her cousins home, I couldn't stand it anymore. I finally got all 4 cakes made and left my kitchen a disaster. My two girls cleaned the mess their cousin had made for me thank god. And my sister took one of my girls for the night so I feel a little better, but geesh, give the Aunt a break ya know??????

Sorry, I just had a bad day and I knew you guys would understand....

Sounds like you need a *HUG*! icon_smile.gif It's nearly impossible for me to do anything with the kids awake. Now that it's over put your feet up and have a Friday-night Margarita icon_smile.gif

oh oh...i feel your pain. i only know what it is like to have two 3 year olds in the house..

my daughter has been in the kitchen in her high chair since she was months old...she knows when i have to bake and can i tell you she is very good about it....even saying she wants to help. so i let her add vanilla and stir for a bit. icon_smile.gif

I agree with kelley...put up your feet have that margarita and cake if you have any left over from the one that crumbled.

Thanks guys, I ended up taking a bath and drinking half a bottle of wine, so I was feeling pretty darn good by the time I went to bed! icon_biggrin.gif
