Hello all CCr's...

I was wondering how to make navy blue bc... I have seen all the shades of blue at Michaels, but I don't see navy blue. I need to make a NY Yankee baseball cap this week.

Any suggestions??

Thanks all!!!

Add black to royal blue. Eventually you will get navy. I will completely stain everyone's mouth though. Fondant would be so much better than bc.

Thank you Sugarplum! Do you think coloring the fondant or painting it afterward would be easier?

I'm fairly new to fondant... I've mostly only used it for white wedding cakes so far.

wow, it's a yankees kinda weekend, huh? lol. i am making a yankees cake this weekend too. i added a few drops of americolor black to royal blue and it came out pretty dark (mind you, it had a gray tint to it). don't forget dark colors get darker as they sit.

well, i guess it's back to frosting my cake and putting on my yankees fbct.

good luck!

Americolor makes a great navy blue and it doesn't take much of it to color fondant

THank you!! I'm going to have to try Americolor soon. So many people on here seem to recommend it.
