Help?

I am hosting a wine and cheese theme bridal shower. It is a second marriage for the bride and wants the party more elegant than cutesy. Does anyone have an idea on what to do. The bride wants a surprise but chocolate cake on the inside.

TIA,
dtmc

how about a cake in the shape of a wine bottle with some smaller sections of cut cake made to look like wedges of cheese???? How many people does it need to serve????

this is MY PERSONAL favorite wine themed cake by cjf!!!!

Or perhaps you want some small petit fours or something of which you could pipe a small grape cluster on top or something!!

There's a cake titled "Lola's cake for work" in my pics that might be useful to you. I think it might work nicely.

Also, there's a cowboy rehearsal dinner cake with a silhouette of the bride and groom on it in my pictures. Maybe you could adapt the basic idea and do a light colored background and put a silhouette of a bride on the cake with some 3D fondant flowers coming out of her bouquet. Maybe do simple fondant flowers (cupped) and swirls around the cake for a border.

Just some thoughts...

I think that the cakes that have pirouettes or chocolate plaques on the sides standing around it are very elegant looking.

I had two ideas...

you could do a basket weave that have grapes and ivy coming off of it.

or all chocolate with chocolate swirls all over with a bride and groom strawberry on top, and then chocolate covered strawberries all around the bottom.

that's what I came up with...

I had a similar request recently and after scouring the galleries for inspiration came up with my "Strawberry Couples Shower" cake in my pix. Thought the dipped strawberries would work w/your theme.

I'll try to add the picture to this post...new to this . icon_rolleyes.gif

I always make petit fours for bridal showers when I'm asked to bring something - they're always elegant. if you want my recipes and instructions, PM me.

Monograms are also always very elegant, if you want to do a large cake vs petit fours.

Edencakes....your square wedding cake with the sugard fruit is BEAUTIFUL! I think I may go in that direction. It looks so elegant and beautiful. I'm thinking of doing that in all chocolate with fruit and grapes, but on a smaller scale since it is only for a shower.

Thanks........
