As a mom who works at home, (Babysitting and cakes), it's hard to get validation for things I do everyday. I think that my family takes for granted all the things I do all day. (I'm sure they think that their underwear drawers just grow new pairs on it's own because one day there's none and then suddenly it's full again, like magic!)

I think we should give ourselves a pat on the back in a place where more people might relate, like here.

I wonder what you did today that made you proud of yourself?

Here's mine:

Today, I took the little darlin's I watch out for a long walk, then we played on the playground and sang songs. It doesn't sound like much, but we had fun and it was nice to just play without thinking that I had to also be making dinner or folding laundry while they played. thumbs_up.gif

Although I must admit that I THOUGHT about what I would make for dinner and reminded myself that I have to wash my daughter's soccer uniform for her game tonight! icon_confused.gif

Well, I have just started back to work full time last week (just for the summer -fill in) I have a ton of things to catch up on (DH is trying really hard but it is just not the same) but instead of taking my day off from work to work on this house, We all three went to a matinee! It was so much fun, popcorn, candy, drinks! I will catch up after my son is in bed! thumbs_up.gif

I took my girls for a bike ride with my friend and her kids and then to her pool. I'm all for the free entertainment! icon_smile.gif

Almost forgot...I made chocolate chip cookies with one of my girls this evening. It's the little things that count the most, I think.

I give myself a pat on the back for baking 6 layers last night for a wedding cake this weekend. And baking the other cakes for the same cake on Sunday.
2 layer 14" round
3 layer 10" round and 6" round.
And if I can pull off getting my hair done, delivering the cake by 11am and be in time to the church for a 2pm ceremony, I will really pat myself on the back. Not to mention have a nail appointment the day before and then the rehearsal the night before...Myself, my hubby and my son are all in the wedding.
