So I'm making fondant frogs, snails, and puppies for my "What are Little Boys Made Of?" cake ( thanks gmcakes!)
As they dry, they are cracking icon_cry.gif Is there anything I can do to fix this?
What causes it? I really don't want to start over icon_sad.gif I worked all day on them. I keep my fondant wrapped, I use Crisco on my hands-help, please!
TIA

Did you mix the fondant with CMC or Gum-tex? if so, you might have added a bit too much...

I have had cracking figures before and when they are finished, you can barely notice...remember the artist ALWAYS sees the flaws but others usually don't...

It looked as though one of my characters had a large face scar when I made her but I rubbed a little powdered sugar over her face and it disappeared...it was pale pink though...I don't think that would work for darker colours...

When I do modeling now, I keep to the 1tsp/lb for the gumtex unless it is really humid...

HTH a little...
