Where can I find them? I'm getting aroller soon, and need to know what type to get, and how to do it once I get home.

Look on the home page, towards the bottom, under the "Articles" section.

Have fun! I LOVE this method!!

I am new at this....I just started using the Melvira Method for smoothing and it works great. BUT, I am getting a ridge around the top of the round cakes. When I smooth the sides, the icing goes above the top of the cake....when I smooth the top, the icing sticks out again. Does that make sense? I'm sure there's an easy fix....I'm just frustrated a bit. I want to get crisp edges. Any help or tips would be great!!! Thanks

I get that once in awhile. For most cakes, my border will cover any imperfections. Try a softer pressure when doing the sides. If you still get it, what I do is take the roller from the outside and softly roll in over the edge in toward the center of the cake. Then I softly roll the top of the cake to smooth it again. In my pics, the first photo (granddaughter's 5th BD - 2 tier pink) you can see on the bottom tier that I had a little ridging that I missed, but I think the top tier looks good and this is how I smoothed it down.

Thanks so much...I'll try less pressure....I do tend to roll hard because it smooths so nicely.

I love borders because they can cover so much. But, some cakes look much better without a border.

I'll keep practicing. Thanks again.

I get that sometimes because I put too much icing on . I cut it off, let it crust a melvira it up again.
