Oh boy, I don't know about that. I have that pan and I don't know if I'd risk it.
I'll pray that the baking core is right under your nose and you find it quick.
Good luck!

I've seen a baking core for sale at Michaels, but I don't know if it's the same size.

I have this pan too, and I have baked it without the core, but it's tricky. It takes more batter (I don't know exactly how much), and definitely a longer time to bake it. I tried it to see if it was more sturdy as solid cake. Honestly, I can't really remember, it was so many years ago. I know that it did work, but I wasn't in a hurry to do it again.

Do you have time to bake a practice one?

Good luck!

I never use the core in any of my stand up pans, just bake at 325 for a longer period of time and you will have a more solid, workable cake.

I gave in and went to buy another pan. I use it often enough that it is probably worth it--just frustrating! I may try it without when I have more time to play around and redo if necessary. Thanks for the advice!
