I have been living and breathing this cake for so long....planning and changing my techniques up to the very last minute! I had a great time making it, but am glad it's over. I have WAY too many hours in this!

Very pretty!!! Give yourself a big pat on the back for a job well done! You should be very pleased. I love the design on the side. Did you do this freehand? I would never be able to get it to look so neat.

Thanks so much for the compliments! I ended up doing the scrolls
free-hand using using royal icing. I practiced doing them a few other ways and ended up doing it free-hand was surprised at how easy it was! It was very time consuming to paint them gold. Next time, I think I'll just paint the scrolls on and skip the royal icing step.
