When Using The Wilton Theme Cake Pans...

I think you might be expected to save the paper insert in the pan and use it as a guideline. ... But, that is exactly why I don't use them! I just draw characters on sheetcakes! Who needs all those pans, how many times would you use each character?
I'm with you littlelinda, all I do is draw!! Can't imagine where I would put all the pans, if I had too, lol.
One more thing ... the character pans only serve about 12.
cshelz: What character are you thinking of doing? There are thousands of character cake ideas in our galleries.
When I use my Wilton character pans, I don't crumb coat the top of the cake. I start by outlining all the details, and then fill in with a tip (usually a star). If you are having trouble seeing the indents, just keep the pan nearby as a handy guide, or keep the insert (although I've had to order many off ebay that didn't have inserts). Jodie
