I made a batch and used it on a cake for the first time yesterday. I had a difficult time roling it out. The fondantwas very stiff and did not want to strech out. Does anyone hava any pointers??

If it is a little hard, try nuking it for a couple of seconds--helps soften it up to roll out better.

BTW, welcome to CC!

Yes, without microwaving it I dont think i would be able to roll mine out at all! I also suggest microwaving it to add gel paste colors as well, they will work in better if you knead it in warm.

I've found that I have to use a little less powdered sugar than the recipe calls for. Otherwise, it is very stiff and results in the "elephant skin" look. I haven't tried to "nuke" it though. I did add a little crisco to a batch that was stiff and that seemed to help with the appearance and stiffness.
