I'm so glad you posted this because that is exactly what I have been doing too. I never substitute the creamer for water but rather just add in 1/4 cup in addition to everything else. I tried it the other way and didn't it like it as much. I like my batter to be on the thinner side. It just seems to work better for me that way, and taste better tooicon_smile.gif

heiger73, do you notice what the density it like? Would it hold up to stacking/carving do ya think?

nokddng - cant wait to try this version but is it 1/2 STICK butter or 1/2 Cup butter? Also, when you use the vanilla carmel are you using vanilla flavored pudding? I would like to try this with the different cc flavors I bought but dont know what pudding flavor to pair it with. Would you always use vanilla pudding with white cake and chocolate pudding with chocolate cake no matter what coffee mate flavor you wanted to add?

steffla-That's a good question. I have made stacked cakes with this recipe but never tried carving with it. The next time I make it, I will try to pay more attention to the density and let you know. Let me know if you decide to try it.

One thing to note is that many flavors come in Fat free and sugar free versions. Maybe if your cake was dry you may have accidently picked the fat free one up? The containers really look alike.

Sorry it took me awhile to get back..I just happen to be browsing the pages and checked in on this post again. I use 1/2 cup of butter..which is a stick of butter. Yes, when I used the vanilla carmel I use vanilla pudding with both the white and vanilla cakes. There's a hint of the vanilla carmel when you add it to the cakes. I've never tried anything else..if you try another flavor let me know. icon_smile.gif With chocolate cake I use chocolate pudding..I guess I'm not much of stepping out of my box when it comes to pairing different flavors. I haven't tried any coffee mate flavors with chocolate yet...but anything that goes with chocolate would probably be good. I think I saw chocolate raspberry coffee mate in the store the other day. Good luck! icon_biggrin.gif
