I have a question I am going to make a cake using wafer paper, but have never done it before and need to know the following:
1.How much time in advance can I trace the picture on the wafer paper?
2.Which side am I suppose to trace it on?
3.Any othe tips you may have?
Thanks

hey I just posted a cake with a wafer paper diploma on it - I did it several days in advance and it was great - I am not sure if there was a right side to use they both looked the same to me. It worked out much better than I thought it would and was very easy to draw on!!!!

I've used wafer paper only once. I used it to make butterfly wings. I used edible markers and they were done at least a week in advance. I drew on one side and once it dried, I did the other side. They were very delicate, but held up very well. The cake is in my pics. I've heard of people painting on piping gel, once the colors have set in, to make the wafer paper more durable. Unfortunately, I have never tried that, so I don't know how well it works.

If anything, I'll give you a bump!!
