I am setting up a wedding cake today and am terribly nervous. I am worried about the bottom 14" cake. After it was iced, I noticed that I should have cut more off the top. It sort of curved. I am afraid it will make the cake crooked. It is a stacked cake. Is there some trick that I can do if it is crooked? Help quick!!

Im not an expert but what about if you reice the cake and try to level it using the buttercream? I did tat one time and it worked pretty good...

Yes, I would just scrape the icing off the top, level the mound and re-ice it. Better safe than sorry!!
best to you!

You could re-frost it, using the buttercream to "level" the look of the cake...

Then, when you dowel it, be sure to measure your dowels to the top of where the new (thicker) frosting is...that way your other stacks will be level too...

Hope this helps,
