I'm making the grooms cake for an outside wedding. It will start around 6:30pm. It will probably be around 80 degrees. The cake will be 14 X 14 square with 2 layers, choc. buttercream frosting, chocolate dipped strawberries, and a choc. mold of a motorcycle on top. Do you think it will melt. This will be my first grooms cake and I'm very nervous. At least I don't have to make the wedding cake. Any help appreciated. Thanks

By BC cake held up just fine in the hot weather last week. It was an all shortning bc. I let the iced cake sit in the very cold fridge(I turned the temp way down) overnight. I'm in CA so I don't have the humidity you have. Maybe somebody from the TX area can help you out with that.

Thank you very much. I was told today that they want the cake for this Saturday and I was wondering since I have a short time to make this if the wilton buttercream and choc frosting is ok for the outside weather? I've never used it. I've always made my own.

I would worry about the molded chocolate. Make sure the cake is in the shade!
