I made Toba Garrett's fondant recipe and was thrilled with the results and how easy it was. It tastes fanstastic as well. I have to say that it was actually easier to make than MMF and handles MUCH better. thumbs_up.gif

Ditto, thanks for letting us know. I have been meaning to make it for a while now. Glad to know it is easier then mmf and handles well. Did you cover a cake in it? Did it have a nice smooth finish to it?

Bzer, It's in the recipes section of this site. Click the "recipe" tab at the top of the page. Type "fondant" in the "keyword" box. Toba's recipe is second from the bottom.

I really like Toba's fondant recipe. It is great to use and dries pretty quickly.

I used it for the lattice work in this cake with no problems. I'll be covering another cake this week and will post results.

Yes it tastes better than MMF to me...and to my "picky" 20 years old daughter. I use lemon extract and it has a light, clean taste. I think it's a more mature flavor, if you know what I mean. Sweet and clean with no aftertaste, but not sickeningly sweet.
Thanks, 2yummy.

I have some questions-

First- this recipe does NOT use marshmellows?
How does it taste if no MM?????

Also, do you HAVE to use 10X PS or will it come out fine with store bought PS?

Thanks

No, the recipe doesn't use marshmallows. To me it tastes like buttercream. Her recipe calls for some type of flavoring...I usually use lemon extract...but you could use vanilla, orange, cream boquet, etc.
