Will The Cake Mix Extender Recipe Work In A 9X13X3 Inch Pan?

I'm planning on making a cake using the Cake Mix Extender recipe that is on this site. I was wondering if there would be enough batter from this so I can bake it in a 9x13x3 inch pan and make it bigger, or should I just stick with the 9x13x2 inch pan for this recipe?

It's perfect for the 9x13x3 with a little left over for a few cupcakes.
