First off, forgive me if this cake belongs to anyone here, I have not been able to check the gallery. This picture was emailed to me and I was asked to copy it...for Saturday-60-65 servings. He is also to be wearing a fondant crown...like a frog prince.

I have made the fondant, but beyond that, I'm not sure what I'm going to do...my thought is if I use a 10" and 8" round for the body and two 6" stacked for the head, I will end up with 61 servings...now, should I try to make the arms and legs with cake or with krispy treats??

Thank you all in advance for any help I can get with this!

This cake is similar to Debbie Brown's from 50 Easy Party Cakes. She makes the arms and legs out of fondant and cake body is bowl shaped. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure I'd be able to do this large size with just a bowl...but thank you. I need to look into that option. Are there any others?

The bowl seems like the perfect shape, like strazle said. Your idea of using the two six in. rounds, filled and carved seem right for the head, unless you have a sports ball pan. Either way, I think I'd be sure to take a little off the top of the "bowl" cake so you have a flat surface to put the head onto. (Also if you were to carve the head from the sports ball, I'd be sure to cut a flat surface on the bottom). For the right amount of cake, would it be ok to make a "bottom" cake for the frog to sit on? Could you make a 10" or 12" in. cake for the bottom and maybe not make your frog as large?
Hope you find the solution icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Here is my frog prince-he isn't like the picture, but I think he's adorable.
