I have a request for June 8th for a 3-D whale and I would like to know if anyone has done a 3-D whale or knows how to sculpt one? Thank you.

cute idea from wilton site: http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/bday/blowout.cfm

how big and what kind of whale?
in or out of water?

could easily start w/ wondermold for back half of body, tack on 1/2 sports ball for front -- a little carving for the mouth.

tail/fins, etc. fondant.

For a small whale the egg shape should be fine, tail and fins use fondant. He could swim in the ocean 9sheet cake) for more servings. Gumpaste shimmer dust drops on wire for the Blow

There is a whale in Lindy Smiths "Party Animal Cakes" book.

I'm doing a dolphin right now and making it out of rice crispies so it will be sitting on top of the water.
