Hawaii And N Carolina And Australia Cake!

I just had a request for a cake that incorporates themes from the bride's home state of North Carolina, the groom's state of Hawaii and their future home country of Australia. I've thought of using the state flowers and/or sports. But I don't know how to bring it all together. They are getting married in N. Carolina. The reception in Hawaii is where I'll make the cake. Any ideas out there?
I recently did a cake using 2 different countries flags. Would that idea work in with your cake?
well since she is from NC --- she's a tar heel!
and Hawaii brings to mind flip-flops, gaudy shirts, etc.
and Australia -- beer (fosters), sharks, reefs, nemo.
so....
