Okay, My spelling is off here and I might not make sense. I'm too lazy to proof read or correct... so if it is offensive, just well, just never mind. ![]()
Be truthful. Be Blut.
I'll try to make this short. This is a bridal shower. About 20 people. Intimate setting.
The Maid of Honor, has asked me to help her and the bride has asked me as well. I suggested placing a tent (about 10x15 in the backyard FILLed with beautiful flowers. As I do this often, this is no big deal to me.
Try to imagine a miniature Secret Garden. The tent has no covering but a ribbon, ivy, profusion of flowers, hanging candles and hanging pompoms (but not too many) The purpose of this little veniette is to provide a wonderful view from inside the home. The interior of her home is early, shall we say, early "I'm just starting out so this is all I have, and nothing matches."
Sweet girl. BEAUTIFUL green yard and plastic blinds with no curtains. To make this veniette have purpose I thought about hanging favors from the ribbons as well. Along with jewelry boxes which contain necklaces I thought a card that looks like...

would be nice. Instead of the picture of the couple, I would insert a photo of a swan. This would happen to be the same photo used on the personalized U.S. postage stamp I am making. When the individual opens it up, it is their name and a little note from the Bride. All typed, but signed with her signature.
Anyway... I was told this was pointless by a man.
Please don't be nice, do not spare my feelings... this is why I wrote this on the board here. Just spill it and however it flows is fine. I need critical judgement here.
But these have no value:
1) too much trouble, no I enjoy this and they know it.
2) whose paying for it , me so no big deal.
3) It is hot as hades here in the south in August and NOBODY is going to want to spend a great deal of tiem outside. The guests aren't ASKED to go outside... the surprise is there so if somebody goes outside there is a reason.... kind of like finding easter eggs on Easter.
I was told this was pointless, just leave them on the table. To me, it just isn't the same. The element of surprise is not there... otherwise I can save my time. It is just another favor passed around in regimental style...
