Here is a Tinkerbell cake I made. I usually don't show it because the BC looks horrible and it's not a very good cake. However, I did it with CTs and GP flowers.

For some reason it's not posting my picture. I'll but it in my album . . . but I'm not going to leave it there very long . . . to embarrased.

Bakery supply store told me edible image needs to go on buttercream. However, I wanted to do Italian Merengue... Do you think I could put something between like fondant or chocolate or ....? XXX BC is just not liked in our family....

Anyone who has done edible images?

you know what you could do?? You could take a photo of tin and cut out each part of her body and use it as a template to cut out pieces of fondant and just put her all back together on the cake??

I did a buttercream transfer. Although I like the idea of a chocolate transfer that stands up too - I can't remember who, but someone did a bunch of cupcakes on the cupcake stand & hand tinkerbell on top - it was really really cute!

KHalstead that looks so good.... Is it BC? I guess so if it is FBCT. DUH! Is it on BC.. I thought the edible image might look better but yours is awsome.
What do you think of using FBCT vs. Chocolate/Candy melts like Merissa did in the tutorial with Pooh? OK and what about that vs. edible image?

I know what you mean imartsy... I think her name is Boween and she did a tutorial using hello Kitty.... she did some stand up tinks, etc. too. Those are edible images...

yes, that's it... Thank you Jan! Still trying to decide....fbct, chocolate/candy melt transfer or edible image... How to do whatever on IMBC??? BAkery supply said can't use IMBC. Make a fondant or gumpaste or chocolate plaque ... if so, use something in between with moisture for the transfer to "meld" with...? Ackkkk confused.

yes the whole thing is bc.....when I do fbct's I frost the whole cake with a thin layer of bc, then lay down the transfer and then build up the icing around the transfer so it's even with the transfers thickness (I don't care for the look of the transfer being thicker than the cake icing) and then just smooth over it all with a viva.

Well it looks great! Have you done any of the chocolate/candy melt ones like Merissa's tutorial with Winnie the Pooh? Have you used edible images?

I've done both, and I say you'd be the biggest crowd pleaser if you do the CT. With just a little practice you can make a great tinker bell and even do some very fancy writing with CT

Well, I have some time... so I will try a CT first... Using candy melts.... I will look over Merissa's tutorial......

If I don't like it, I can always run up to the bakery and have an image made.

Kay... I saw your Pooh (sounds funny LOL) and it is so great. How do you get such vibrant colors? Is the Pooh with Kierra's b'day a CT also? Which ones are edible images and which are transfers? Do you recommend I just follow Merissa's tutorial? By the fancy writing do you mean do the mirror image thing on parchment and lift them?

Could I put a CT on IMBC?

Jopalis, I dont think i have any etible images uploaded, they are all cts, and yes all the writing is too! I use almond bark to make my ct's and i color it with regular icing colors, I use paramount crystals to thin so that the gels and paste dont seize up the candy. And yes melissa's tutorial is a good example.
