Can anyone give me some advice/direction on how to make fondant diplomas (scroll type-rolled up) for a graduation cake? I did one for a trial run by rolling it around a plastic dowel with some parchment paper between the fondant and the dowel but it looks like I'm going to have problems getting the parchment out of the scroll when it's dry. Is there a better way? Should I put shortening on the dowel (I'm thinking that if I do that I may have problems getting it to dry) or maybe corn starch on the back of the scroll before rollling it up? Help!

Thanks!

Julie

I just dust the dowel well with corn starch
