How long and at what temperature do you bake cupcakes? How full do you fill the paper cups with batter?
I am going to make cupcakes for my dad's birthday and I 've never made them before, so I need your help, please. icon_smile.gif

Hey guys...cupcakes are very easy...but will also burn if you don't watch it!

I always bake at 325 degrees, but all ovens are different...it's safer to bake at a lower temp for a slightly longer time if your unsure.

I will check at 15-18 minutes (clean toothpick), mine usually don't take very long at all...I use DH and add Pudding w/extra egg.

I fill about 1/2 to 3/4 full depending on whether or not I want them level or not. Try 1/2 first till you get the hang of it.

have fun

Hi - I use 1/4 cup of batter - bake @350 - 15-20 minutes or till tester comes out with a few crumbs. So far this has worked everytime. By the time they cool - they are just about even with the baking cup & easier to decorate. If you want more of a dome add a little more batter. Hope this helps

oh, thought I'd add that someone here suggested that if you want to make the mini cupcakes...use a squeeze bottle to fill your papers with the batter...it works Great!!! No mess!

I use an icecream scoop or Pampered Chefs Large cookie scoop for regular size cupcakes. Works great. Bake at 325 for 18-20 min, test with toothpick.
