I was just at Michael's (in Canada) and saw that they have this new castle kit! Comes with 24 turrets (3 different sizes), 6 windows, 1 door and 1 roof.

I picked one up because the amount of time it will save is amazing for standard party cakes!

Getfrosted - how much did that kit cost at Michael's? It's absolutely beautiful.

TIA

It's at Sugarcraft.com for 19.99 but Michael's would be cheaper with a coupon.

My business partner will be using it this weekend for a castle. The client didn't need a HUGE cake and didn't want to spend tons of money, so we are using this. We are taking a $20 deposit/equiptment fee. She got it at Michael's for $10 after using her 50% Joanne Fabric coupon.

Jenteach - at Michael's it's priced at $29.99 - I bought with the 40% coupon so it was 17.99. Where in Ontario are you?

Make sure that you get a deposit from your customers to cover the replacement cost just like cake stands and your good to go!

Getfrosted - thanks for the info. I'm in Burlington right now, but we're moving to Hamilton in a couple of months... My parents are near you - they are in Caledon...

I made this cake last month for my twins princess party. It wasn't too hard. The hard part for me was attaching the turrets. The directions tell you to use candy melts. It turned out pretty nice. My trouble was transporting the cake. As I was loading it in, I hit the top... and down came the turrets. I almost broke down and cried...
I made repairs at the party site. Even though everyone was telling me how nice it looked. I could still tell that my door and peak were not even.

But, I would love to make one again.
