Help Please! How Do You Make Gold Royal Icing?!
Decorating By ceca Updated 25 May 2007 , 3:11am by aurasmom
hello everyone. i have a big problem. i have a cake ordered for next week and a lady wants all writing to be in gold royal icing. i have no clue how to make that! i know you can paint white icing with luster dust but this is going to be a scroll with writing on it. it is too small to paint it later. any other way you can make it golden and then write with it??? is there any other way to do this?
additionally I was looking on the net and came across a discussion that asks the same questions you do. If you care to read it it's at http://www.wilton.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=8&threadid=72656
thank you guys so much! i'll have to do a practice run tomorrow. i do have a set of very small brushes but i always somehow mess it up. or it starts bleeding onto the fondant....so far i haven't been able to make a real "golden" color on anything fondant or icing. maybe i was putting too much vodka before?
thanks again. i always appreciate all your help!
