Why Can't I Find A Graduation Hat Cookie Cutter?

thumbsdown.gif I am having such a hard time finding a graduation hat cookie cutter. I have been to the craft stores here in my area and no luck. Is there no such thing? Do I need to design my own?

Any help would be appreciated!

I found it at my local cake supply, but I ordered mine from www.cookiecutter.com .

Do you have a hobby lobby where you live at? That is where I found mine. Its made by wilton.

I was at Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart yesterday and had no luck. I even asked the girl at Hobby Lobby and she said she they don't carry them.. I thought she was CRAZY. Maybe I should look at Michael's today.

My local craft stores have flowers and dog bones, that's it! I wish they had more.

I live close to the country kitchen , I know they have them and they also have a diploma cutter to . almost all their cutters are $1. hope this helps.

Thank you all for ALL the wonderful advise. I don't know that I can order the cutter online and receive it by Monday. I have to take the cookies to the school on Wednesday. I called Michaels, no luck, I called GardenRidge, no luck, I even called a local bakery that sells decorating utencils, no luck. I just can't believe it! I will TRY to make a template to use, but I have never done that before.

I think that you might have to make a cookie cutter at this point. Use the tutorial and good luck!

countrykitchensa.com has some and I ususally receive my orders very quickly - although I live fairly near them.

I made Jockey silks for a Kentucky Derby cake and had to sort of make my own cutter - what I did was find an image online, print & cut it out, traced it onto some kinda thicker cardboard (it came from a box I had), and then cut out each cookie by hand w/ a knife. Yes it was annoying. But I didn't have the money at the moment for the supplies to make my own cookie cutters. Although I think that must be easier. If you're in a time crunch & budget crunch though, that method of cutting them out by hand does work.

Off The Beaten Path, www.cookiecutter.com , has really fast shipping if you choose the priority shipping method. I've gotten mine in 3 days. Could always give them a call and see if it will arrive in time.

If you need to decide to go without ordering the cutte rbecause of time constraints, I would make one using flashing versus using a template. Had baaaad experience with templates!

Where are you located at? Maybe someone will be able to point you to a local place?

I know my local place has quite a few and I don't think anyone knows they are they b/c they still had quite a few this past weekend.

I'm in eastern Iowa, so I have no idea how close you are.
