Can anyone help with this one please .......... icon_biggrin.gif

My dear x hubby has made a $100 challange (i.e bet) that I cant do a chocolate fudge cake flavored with red wine!!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Normally I just use the Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix.....he loves it. icon_smile.gif

But if I substitute the oil for just red wine I am worried the cake will be to dry.............. can I just add an extra egg or is there something else I need to do?

I thought I had read something about this but I cant seem to find it. icon_cry.gif

Please help as this is the first time I have ever been worried about losing a challange set by him!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Thanks in advance icon_biggrin.gif

I've never done it, but I think I would replace the water called for in the instructions and keep the oil. Of course, I am not sure what is added to Betty Crocker mix ( I only use Duncan Hines mixes). Aside from that, I think maybe I would drizzle some of the wine onto the baked cake (like they do with simple syrup and liquers sometimes). Sorry I couldn't help more definitively icon_redface.gif Good Luck thumbs_up.gif

Cheat and use a dessert wine! Sweet and some are almost syrupy.
