I am also doing a FBCT for a cake on Sunday. I had plan to do mine probably tomorrow night. But tonight would be fine.

The ones that I've done have been done 2 days before decorating and have been totally fine. Just a word of caution, make sure that you do your transfers on something straight that doesn't bend. The first one I did was on a very thin plastic cutting board and when I stuck it in the freezer it kind of bent when I put it on my cake the side were touching the cake but the middle was off the cake, like I could look through to the other side. I was able to hide it, but the next time I made one I put it on a non-bendable sheet pan.

I have a different quick question about FBCT!

I noticed that sarahjane said that she put her FBCT on a sheet pan. I was just wondering what everybody else used to support their FBCT?

Thank you usaribbon.gif

I've used a cookie sheet before if I had several small ones that would fit on it, but normally I use a cutting board or plexiglass or whatever is handy. icon_cool.gif

I generally use a spare cake board. I have an industrial size freezer in my garage though, and it's fairly empty (except for the stash of GS Cookies) so there's tons of space in there and no fear of bending.

I have different sizes of plexiglass to correspond with the size fbct that I am doing.

Good luck thumbs_up.gif

I actually did 13 FBCT total for the pokemon cake I did for my son's bday (12 on the sides and one for the entire top of the cake). I started them several days in advance since I do have four kids running around creating chaos in their wake, so my time decorating is limited to the evening hours most of the time. You should be fine doing them in advance. Just leave them in the freezer until you are ready to put them all on the cake.

I use a spare cake board. Fits just great in the freezer. And it doesn't bend.
